Welcome to Engineering Expectations! I’m Meagan and I am hoping to use my engineering experience to help you have a better understanding of what engineers do and inspire you to fulfill your dream of becoming an engineer.
I have seven years of experience working as a Senior Research and Development (R&D) engineer for a globally recognized multi-billion dollar medical device company. I have worked both in New Product Development and Sustaining Engineering. By the time I was 25, I was leading a team of engineers for a multimillion dollar New Product Development project, promoted to Senior Engineer, and earning six figures.
However, I was not always this successful. My journey to becoming an engineer was a challenging one, often filled with doubt. Like when I received a 2 on the AP Calculus exam. So yes, even someone who did poorly on the AP Calculus exam in high school went on to be a successful engineer. I’ve designed medical devices that are used around the world today.

I am here to inspire you and give you the motivation you need to persevere through the challenges of school so you can go on to also reap the benefits of engineering! Engineering jobs are always in demand and are one of the most rewarding professions you can have. I am here to help you achieve your dreams.
I invite you to reach out to me and let me know what you want to know about engineering. What are your concerns about your future career? I’m sure if you have a question, someone else out there is thinking the same thing so ask away. I want to help in anyway I can! Please email me at meagan@engineeringexpectations.com.
